Coordinator
Marianne is a conservation biologist and science communicator with a background in marine research and community development. Passionate about sharing conservation solutions, she has been coordinating activities, developing the website and advancing the online presence for the Ocean Optimism movement since 2014.
Ellen Spooner
Content Developer
Ellen Spooner is a marine scientist and Science Communicator. Since graduating from the University of Michigan with a Master of Fisheries, she has worked in NOAA and the Smithsonian. She leads the development of design, content and outreach for the Ocean Optimism website.
Chester Lewis
Technical Developer
Chester graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2015 with a degree in Physics. After, he volunteered in Cambodia for the Song Saa Foundation as a Marine Research Assistant where he met Marianne. He is currently studying for a MSc in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, specialising in energy policy. Chester is responsible for all technical aspects of the running of the website.
Natasha Hill
Content Developer
Natasha Hill is a marine conservation consultant and, since graduating from the University of St Andrews with a Master of Research in Marine Ecosystem Management, she has worked in Central London regarding fisheries policy. She is an active Member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas. Natasha leads the development of design, content and outreach for the Ocean Optimism website.
